fingerless

Terrible picture, but it’s not so easy to take a picture of your own hand, is it? I made this glove on Saturday and I don’t have too far to go on the 2nd one. I’ll no doubt finish it tonight. I want to keep them but I’m making them for Suzanne. She has tried typing and knitting with this one and it worked pretty well. They’re on Ravelry, Cascade 220 Fingerless Mitts. This is a Cascade 220 hand paint. My lousy photo definitely doesn’t do the beautiful yarn justice. If you enlarge the photo you can see the yarn better and you can see a couple mistakes where I knitted instead of purled.

I’m ready to leave for work, but I’m trying to wait for my iPod. I plugged it in to the computer without opening iTunes first. Usually I open iTunes and it takes seconds for it to Sync and I don’t always wait for the iPod to fully charge. Well, now the iPod has a message on the screen that says Do not disconnect and iTunes won’t even open. What does that mean, you techie girls and boys? So now I can’t decide whether to leave it at home today and obey the Do not disconnect command or unplug it and see what happens… or doesn’t happen. I suspect that the worst that might happen is that I could end up having to have it reconfigure the iPod and that’s not a big deal.

Seconds later. I unplugged and the new message said OK to unplug. Teehee. I still can’t open iTunes, I don’t know what that’s all about. I think I will put the computer to sleep and see what happens later.

A few more seconds later. All is well in my iPod world. Lately, not always, when I click in iTunes it opens a message that makes me think it doesn’t remember me. I close that message and then I can get into it. So now I’m all updated with the latest Podcasts. I heard on the 50 second or so Onion News update that Christmas suicides start earlier every year because… Christmas advertising starts earlier and earlier every year. That’s a depressing thought to start the morning with. But I have also heard somewhere that there’s not really more suicides at Christmas than any other time of the year, you just hear more about them. I have to admit, I don’t know what got into me, but I looked for Christmas music podcasts yesterday and now have some holiday tunes to listen to. People in my family are already asking me how much Christmas shopping I’ve gotten done. I don’t know why they don’t seem to learn that for me, Christmas shopping starts in December and not always too far before the 20th or so.

Wow, I’m really in a rambling mood this morning. Sorry. It would be so much more fun to sit at this computer today than at the one at work.

I’m done now, really.
